Why use a bed bumper?
We often receive the question: "Why do I need a bed bumper?". The question is, as such, also very good. It is far from necessary to have a bed bumper, but it is still really good in many ways. There are many who do not use a bed bumper and that is perfectly fine as well.
To start with, a bed bumper is often used just for coziness. It makes the bed more reassuring and cozy for very small children to lie in. When the child gets a little older, it is really good as it prevents the child from sticking legs and arms through the bars of the bed. Likewise, a bed bumper protects the baby from drafts.
If the child feels that the bed is too big, it is a really good idea to buy a thick bed bumper. If the bed is not that big, we recommend a thinner bed bumper. We have both thick and thin bed bumpers here in the shop and you can find the entire selection right here on the page.
For the crib
A bed bumper is made for the child's crib. No matter which crib you have, our bed bumpers should also fit yours. A bed bumper is made in such a size that it can reach around the edge of most models of cribs. However, you should consider whether the bed bumper should be thick or thin, which can have a significant impact.
A thick bed bumper is good when the crib is wide and perhaps too big for the baby. This makes the bed a little smaller and thus safer for the child.
A thin bed bumper is used for cribs where the child does not need the bed to be smaller. A thin bed bumper makes the bed smaller to a very limited extent.
Bed bumper as a snake
Among our selection, you will find a large variety of the popular and somewhat different bed bumpers. They are not rectangular and long like 'normal', but are shaped like a snake – typically with a nice head. White bed bumper
Although the color white is a delicate color, it is a really popular color for bed bumpers. This is probably primarily because it matches all the different bedding sets you might have. For example, if you have a baby bedding with a print of cars, a pink bed bumper might not be the most optimal. With a white bumper, you will get a gender-neutral bed bumper that matches all of the child's bedding – regardless of print, color, brand, etc.
Bed bumpers for junior beds
If you need a bed bumper for a junior bed, it can become a bigger task. Most bed bumpers measure 360 cm (more on that later in the text). Since the bed bumper has this size, it will not be able to reach all the way around the junior bed, which typically measures 70x160 cm. Therefore, you need at least a bed bumper that is 460 cm long, and we must just be honest that unfortunately, these bed bumpers can be quite rare. Therefore, it is often necessary to buy 2 bed bumpers of the same model and just place them in the bed extending each other. This solution has been used by several customers and it works super well.
However, we also recommend that you consider whether it will be necessary to have a bed bumper in your junior bed. Most of our customers typically only use it in the crib and drop it when they move to a junior bed, as it is no longer as relevant for the child.

If you have been so unfortunate that a stain has occurred that you just can't get out and you can't face buying a new bed bumper for over 500 DKK, it might be a really sensible idea to invest in a new cover. Some of our covers can be zipped directly onto the existing one – others you will need to remove the old one. Always remember to check the measurements to ensure that the cover you buy fits the bed bumper you have at home.
Size 360 cm
Most of our bed bumpers have a measurement of 360 cm in length. This is often the standard for the length of bed bumpers, as it fits most cribs and bassinets on the market. If the model deviates from the 360 cm, it will be stated on the individual product. There will be a few of our bed bumpers that have a shorter or longer length than the standard 360 cm.
Baby bed bumper
Who benefits the most from a bed bumper? Well, of course, it is the baby itself. The bed bumper creates an enormous sense of security in the bed. It is therefore ideal for children who have difficulty falling asleep in the evening and who want to sleep with mom and dad. By placing a cozy bed bumper in the crib, the child will be shielded behind the bumper, which provides a lovely sense of security and closeness for the child. Likewise, it protects the child from potential bumps and bruises if the child moves restlessly at night or chooses to jump around in bed.
In addition to creating security and closeness, the bed bumper will help insulate and protect the child from cold and drafts. Thus, you will notice that your child becomes ill much less often, as especially drafts and cold at night can be the cause of many colds and fevers in small children.
