Safety equipment

As soon as your child can crawl independently, it is time to secure the areas of the home that may be dangerous for your child. Go through the home room by room and make sure to secure what can reasonably be secured, such as electrical sockets, drawers, doors and windows. Below, you can see Mammashop's selection of products and equipment that can help childproof the home and make it safe for a child who gets their fingers into everything. At the bottom of the page, you can find general advice and guidance on childproofing the home.

Advice and guidance for childproofing the home

Put away the smallest items such as LEGO building blocks and dice from little ones. You can check whether various small items are too small with the toy tester from the Danish safety technology authority.

If there are stairs, a wood-burning stove or a balcony in the home, it is a good idea to install a safety gate in front of them.

Make sure that your child cannot access soap, shampoo, cosmetics and various cleaning products.

Put corner protectors on sharp edges such as radiators, window sills, tables and cabinets.

Place hot items such as coffee and tea at a height where your child cannot reach them.

Buy a safety gate for the doorway to the kitchen – it is the most dangerous place for small, curious Children! Alternatively, you can invest in childproofing for drawers, cabinets and ovens.

Always unplug plugs from the socket if you are not using them, or invest in safety plugs.

Cables for TVs, electric kettles and ironing boards must never lie loose or hang down so that your child can reach them.

Do not place chairs in front of windows so that your child can climb up onto the windowsill. You can also buy safety gates or latches for windows and Balcony doors – this is especially relevant if you live high up.
