January is upon us, and Christmas and New Year are a thing of the past (at least until later in the year… 😄). For many of us, this means a desire to shed the extra pounds we feel we have gained over the holidays or just to tighten up a bit again. But oh, how daunting the thought of dragging the little one down to the gym can seem. But fear not! We have gathered 3 suggestions on how to easily exercise with a little one, benefiting both mom and child.
Baby yoga
Yoga has become popular in recent years, and for good reason. With yoga, you work with your whole body, and it also balances metabolism and stimulates digestion, which helps with any desired weight loss. Not only is yoga healthy for you and your well-being, but it also motivates your child's motor skills and helps with better sleep. That’s what you can call a win-win 😉
Yoga requires nothing but a yoga mat at home, so with one of those on hand, you can easily get to exercise whenever it suits you. If you need inspiration for exercises, you can click here.
Baby swimming
You’re not meant to be logging kilometers in the swimming pool, and of course, the pace is limited with a little one on your arm, but despite that, it is still possible to burn a lot of calories through fun and play. So pack the swimwear and head down to the local swimming pool and enjoy some quality time with your child!
Stroller running
Fresh air and wind in your hair – there’s hardly a better way to gain renewed energy! And here too, you can easily take the little one along for the ride. A baby jogger is definitely preferred for this purpose, but you should be aware that it is only from the child is 7-8 months old that you can use one. Until then, a stroller is a fine alternative. If you’re not quite ready to run or prefer a walk instead, then do that – it’s better than nothing! So hop into your workout clothes and hurry outside.
