The OBD port is the communication bridge between the chest clip on the car seat (SensorSafe) and the mobile phone.
SensorSafe operates with a low-frequency Bluetooth, as the phone can communicate at a higher frequency.
So basically, the information is sent from the clip to the dongle, converted to the correct format, and sent to the mobile phone.
Apart from that, the dongle or SensorSafe system communicates with the car and its system.
