What all nursing wear has in common is that comfort and functionality must be paramount. A good nursing bra should provide support and adapt to changes in your breasts while allowing your baby easy access to the breast. Many people breastfeed at night, and it is nice to have a nursing bra without lace and seams.

Many mothers experience sore breasts during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Therefore, it is important to have a bra that supports and protects the skin. By choosing a nursing bra from, for example, Carriwell, you will find that they are extremely gentle on you and your breasts.
It would be wise to get your first nursing bra when you are around 7 to 8 months into your pregnancy. After giving birth, it would be wise to get at least 2-3 nursing bras a couple of weeks later, once your milk has come in.
Many women find that their breasts leak milk during the first months of breastfeeding, and it can therefore be an advantage to have some nursing bras to change between so that they do not need washing as often.

As you probably know, your breasts will get bigger and you can easily expect to go up at least one cup size compared to before you became pregnant. It is easiest for you to choose the right size once your milk has come in.
Remember that your breasts grow during pregnancy and in the period afterwards when you breastfeed frequently. Some women find that they grow a lot and go up several bra sizes. Others experience a smaller change. It can therefore be incredibly difficult to find the right nursing bra, and we fully understand your frustrations when it is not always easy.
The advantage of many of our nursing bras is that they are more elastic and softer than regular bras you would otherwise buy. This means they can more easily grow along with your breasts and makes it more comfortable for you as an expectant or new mother.
Measure the circumference of your body below your breasts; it is important that you keep the measuring tape horizontal and tight against your body. The circumference usually increases in increments of 5 cm, and it is therefore a good idea to choose a size down. For example, if you measure 83 cm, it is best to choose a nursing bra with a circumference of 80 cm. A good rule of thumb is that it is better to go up in cup size than in circumference.
Measure the circumference in centimetres across your breasts, preferably where they are largest. It may give a more precise measurement if you wear a bra while measuring.
Now subtract the circumference below your breasts from the circumference across your breasts. The difference between these numbers will indicate which cup size you should choose.
If you are right on the borderline and are afraid that the nursing bra size you arrive at is not large enough, you can choose one size larger. Many women's breasts grow incredibly much during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
