The children's range from Design Letters

Arne Jacobsen's iconic range, DesignLetters, features a wide range of absolutely wonderful products aimed especially at children and babies - and their parents.
In addition to the purely practical uses of the products, they are also both charming and educational.

All products feature either numbers or letters, or both. This allows the child to be introduced to both letters and numbers in an elegant way - long before they have any idea what they are used for. They can also be lovely to look at and play with.
With Arne Jacobsen's Design Letters, young children can be introduced to both numbers and letters very early on, right in their nursery.

Design Letters for babies

In addition to enjoying looking at items with letters on them, because they stand out sharply in black and white, there are also some products specifically made for babies.

For example, there are some wonderful products in beautiful and practical melamine. These include both a deep and a flat plate. There is a plate divided into sections, three types of cutlery and a cup. The white plates are printed with numbers or letters in black, and the cup has one large letter on it. It could suitably be the first letter of the baby's name. A spout or cup holder can be purchased for the melamine cup. The spout and cup holder are available in several colours.

Also see baby’s First Book, which is a lovely keepsake book for all the memories.

Design Letters for children

When the child gets a little older, there are several more products that are highly suitable. The younger child may still use melamine cutlery and tableware, but the older child might like a porcelain cup. It is available in black or white with a letter in the opposite colour.

A child will enjoy having a completely personal cup with their own first letter on it. As a slightly older child, a water bottle can also be greatly appreciated. DesignLetters’ version of a water bottle is available in different colours and comes in a lovely design. There are also the well-known tall, slim wooden letters and numbers. They can be used, for example, to write the child's name on the door to their room or elsewhere in the home. The numbers can be used for tactile learning of the shape of numbers.

Play and learning

For more play and learning, a beautiful play kitchens with matching apron and tea towels in children's sizes has been produced. It will certainly be a hit either in the children's room or in a Corner of the kitchen, so you can “cook” together.

Or how about a bunting for the child's birthday? It is available in either light pink or light blue, with ‘Happy birthday’ written on it in large, clear letters. A small child-sized bag with various contents featuring letters is also part of the extensive range.

Give your child the opportunity to surround themselves with beautiful design and lovely products decorated with numbers or letters. It stimulates number and letter learning in a different way, and these iconic products also create an early appreciation of good everyday design.

Indirect learning

If your child is to have some good wooden blocks to play and build with, ones with letters on them would be a suitable choice. It is another design genius way to incorporate letter learning into play. While the child plays and builds, they see the letters, and from there it is not far to becoming curious about everything to do with letters. Even a fairly young child can learn to recognise individual letters.

Design Letters by Arne Jacobsen is both good design that can be used by children and adults alike, and a brilliant way to introduce numbers and letters into the child's world. Feel free to use letters and numbers in all sorts of ways, and complement them with more of these beautifully designed everyday items in your home. It will sharpen the child's awareness of numbers and letters at a very early age. The sooner, the better.

In this way, the child's natural curiosity about numbers and letters can be stimulated without becoming too school-like in any way.

Design Letters is a subtle way to learn numbers and letters. They are simply part of the child's everyday world. This teaches the child that letters and numbers are all around us.
