The story behind Magni

Magni's history is long. Mette started the company in 2000 with a philosophy that children should develop their imagination and creativity through play with toys. Based on this philosophy, the company today has a motto that goes: ”Imagine a world with Magni”. This world is a magical world filled with play – this is what we owe our children. Magni toys prioritize good and nice materials and quality:

”We feel that it is our responsibility that our children can grow up with high-quality toys and with safety in mind. Therefore, all our products meet all the existing safety standards found in the toy sector.”

The word Magni comes from Norse mythology. Magni was not just any person. Magni was the son of Thor and the giantess Jarnsaxa. The word Magni stands for strength, among other things. In Denmark, we have made our own variant, namely the boy's name Magne. When Magni was three days old, he saved his father from the giant Hrungnir's boot – his father, Thor, was about to be choked. Because of Magni's strength and heroism, he received the horse Gullfaxi as a reward.

In Norse mythology, it is said that Magni will survive Ragnarok. After Ragnarok, Magni takes over Thor's hammer “Mjölnir” along with his half-brother. Magni then becomes part of the brand new pantheon of gods.

The safety of a toy from Magni

All products from Magni are tested and comply with all EU and EN standards regarding toys. Likewise, Magni imposes additional requirements on their Chinese production sites, which ensures that no child labor has been used and that the employees have been treated well during the production of the toys. The joy of producing quality products with high safety standards reflects in the finished product and will certainly also reflect on your child! The JOY of a Magni product will be great.

The founder and owner of Magni, (Mette) is part of the trade association "The Toy Industry - Play", which helps and supports responsible toy companies. LEG collaborates with authorities such as the Environmental Protection Agency and the Safety Authority, which means that Magni is continuously monitored and consulted with the authorities to always ensure that the toys being sent to market are of high enough quality and do not pose a safety risk for either children or parents.

All toys from Magni are CE marked, tested by SGS and Intertek, and comply with all EN 71 1,2,3 and Danish standards.

Design and development of the toys

Magni has its headquarters near Roskilde. At their office, there are 2 permanent designers whose sole purpose in coming to work every morning is to design and develop toys for children that are both highly safe and beautifully designed. Likewise, the products are created with the idea that the toys should develop and stimulate the child in all conceivable ways, so the child develops correctly.

Before a Magni product lands on Mammashop.dk, it has gone through many steps. First, Magni's 2 designers sketch countless drafts to find the perfect expression. Once this is done, prototypes are developed. When the prototype arrives, there can often be something that hasn’t been considered that needs to be corrected. Now Magni receives another prototype which goes for safety approval before the large production begins.

When production begins at Mammashop.dk, a new Magni product will land on the shelves within 6 months. When the product has arrived at Magni's warehouse in Roskilde, we receive a shipment to our warehouse so we can meet our lightning-fast delivery times. After that, the product is listed on our webshop, where a beautiful picture is taken and a lovely description of the product is written with the help of our copywriter. Now the product from Magni is ready for you to purchase – more than 1 year in the making!
