In April, MammaShop launched the new concept Mamma-test, where different families get to test a selected product from the webshop.
The first product we have asked for help to test and review is the Danamic safety gate from BabyDan, which is suitable for the top of a staircase or door. We have selected two test families.
The first family to try the gate is the Engberg Brinch family from Ribe in Southern Jutland. They live in a large house with many stairs and consist of father Christian, mother Ninna, and little Frederik who is 9 months old.
The Engberg Brinch family recommends the safety gate from BabyDan and describes it with the words easy, practical, and adjustable.

Review of the Danamic safety gate from BabyDan
A world of safety
What do you do when two become three, and a whole new world opens up? You secure yourself as best as you can. In our case, it was literally – with a safety gate! We live in a house with three floors, and there are many stairs where small new legs can fall.
MammaShop was so sweet to send us a gate for testing, and we have finally got it up after our Frederik suddenly stood up from a chair – 9 months old!

Stairs to the first floor, where the gate will be installed
Our stairs to the first floor are wider than the standard gate, so we ordered an extension. Everything was super easy to assemble and set up!
At least initially.
We had to put the gate up and down three times before it worked in relation to being able to open the latch when the railing was in the way.
In the same process, we also discovered that the third attempt was best in relation to the bottom of the gate, which should be as far in towards the next step as possible – otherwise, you might step down on it. This is part of the accident IKEA has reported in connection with that type of gate – especially if it is at the top of a staircase.
We don't think it causes problems here at the bottom of the stairs.
The gate was, as mentioned, easy to install – you just screw out the gray knobs at the end so they fit with the frame or wall. Simple and easy.
The gate from BabyDan gets 5 out of 6 stars. It is easy, practical, and flexible, but the post at the bottom is a bit impractical because it sticks out a bit from the step, so you might accidentally step on it.

Gate with extension module
We definitely need another gate for our basement stairs. It is hidden behind a door, but with a little firecracker in the house, that's suddenly no obstacle!
The safety gate also turned out to be easy to adjust for several types of stairs, because the gray knobs at the end can be screwed in and out.
Best regards
Christian, Ninna, and little Frederik
NOTE! The Danamic safety gate from BabyDan, which the Engberg family has tested, is no longer available on the webshop. It is now sold in a newer version under the name Premier, where you get all the best from the classic model infused with new good features.
