Minimize caffeine in daily life
Caffeine can be found in many products, including some very well-known ones like coffee, cola, tea, and energy drinks. Like many other things, caffeine can be both good and bad for you.
Large amounts of caffeine can increase the risk of miscarriage or premature birth. Sometimes it can also cause a small fetal weight. Additionally, caffeine is also an addictive substance, which can have harmful effects on your child.
Doctors typically recommend that pregnant women consume a maximum of three cups of coffee daily. You might consider drinking your tea a bit weaker than usual. Caffeine-free tea and coffee are also a good solution.
Regarding cola, it is typically recommended that pregnant women consume a maximum of half a liter daily. You should completely avoid energy drinks, as they contain a lot of caffeine – caffeine that is artificially produced in this case.
Liver harms your child
Vitamin A is always good for the body, but liver contains a very high amount of vitamin A, which can harm your little fetus in the womb over time. This also includes liver pâté. You should minimize licorice as much as possible, as it is a natural substance that can raise your blood pressure and increase fluid in the body. If you crave licorice, then consume a maximum of 50 grams per day.
Avoid raw meat
By consuming raw meat, you risk the bacteria Listeria. Often it is seen that the pregnant woman does not get sick herself but instead transfers the bacteria directly to the child, which can have fatal consequences for the child.
Listeria is also found in unpasteurized cheeses, so you should avoid these as well. Additionally, it is also advised to avoid cold cuts and smoked fish.
Consumption of fish
Fillets from large predatory fish can have harmful effects on your child. Large predatory fish contain high levels of mercury, and it is this substance that can harm both you and your child. Therefore, you should avoid large predatory fish during your pregnancy.
You can easily use fish oil as a supplement to achieve the recommended intake of fish. You shouldn't worry about sushi as long as you eat it in Denmark. This is because our health authorities take precautions to ensure we do not consume fish that carry a risk of parasites.
Exercise is important
