Can you recognize the symptoms of pregnancy? Many have a feeling that they might be pregnant if their menstruation is delayed.
However, a missed period can have several reasons other than pregnancy, and it cannot therefore be used as a sure sign of pregnancy. Some pregnant women may feel that something is starting to happen in their bodies even before they can take a pregnancy test. This can vary greatly depending on who you are, but some of the signs that may indicate pregnancy are:
- You feel very tired
- Your sense of smell increases
- You feel like you constantly need to urinate
- Your eating habits change. It may be that there is suddenly a particular food you eat a lot of
- You may feel small hard lumps or tension in your breasts
- You feel nauseous - for example, when encountering certain scents from perfume, some foods, or similar, and perhaps also in the morning
You cannot always rely on pregnancy symptoms
Often, women know whether there is a likelihood that they are pregnant even before they are due for their next period. Therefore, in the time leading up to when it is possible to get clear information about the pregnancy, it may feel like you have the pregnancy symptoms mentioned above - even if you find out that you are not pregnant after all. If, for example, one has a strong desire to be pregnant, it can be difficult to objectively assess whether one has pregnancy symptoms or if it is just because one wants it so much. This is one of the reasons why one cannot completely rely on the symptoms.
Pregnancy requires a medical examination
If your period is delayed and you think you are pregnant, you can test it in different ways. You can either go to the doctor and have a pregnancy test done or stay at home and take a pregnancy test. If you find out that you are pregnant, you need to make an appointment with the doctor - regardless of whether you found out at the doctor's office or at home.
Being pregnant outside the uterus
You need to be examined by a doctor early in the pregnancy - usually at 5-6 weeks. This is important because it is possible that the fallopian tube is where the fertilized egg attaches and starts its development instead of the uterus. This can be dangerous for you and is called an ectopic pregnancy. Therefore, in these cases, it is necessary to remove the embryo.
Pregnancy symptoms are normal
In pregnancy, the physical symptoms mentioned above are completely normal and occur due to the hormones released in your body by the embryo. Your body is affected by the fact that it is in the process of creating a small human being. For example, your breast milk glands begin to grow early in the pregnancy, and pain in the breasts and nipples is therefore quite natural.
