If you are not already doing it, you will definitely end up spending many hours with your newly purchased stroller when the little one arrives in the world. In connection with the stroller purchase, most parent couples also need to invest in various practical items that unfortunately do not always come with the purchase of a stroller. These could be practical items such as a baby monitor, diaper bag, rain cover, etc. Besides being practical, this type of accessory is also very classic and has relatively uniform designs. Therefore, you often see that many strollers look alike. But you can change that now! Because there are indeed many smart things and options to 'pimp' your stroller But besides putting your personal touch on the stroller, you also make it more fun and interesting for your baby to go out.
Before you ladies get too caught up in making a complete makeover, we will first briefly mention some smart features that both you and certainly your husband will like

Smart features for the stroller
- Cup holder
A smart cup holder will definitely make walking with your child easier. With this feature, you will always have a bottle close at hand when you need it. At the same time, most cup holders also have space for more than one cup or bottle in the form of compartments/pockets, which makes it possible to store your keys, phone, pacifiers, etc. – things that are always nice to have at hand.
- “Bottle bag”
Other slightly larger models are called, among other things, a “bottle bag,” which is primarily designed for storing bottles. The difference is that the bag has a bit more space than a single cup holder. So if your diaper bag is always stuffed to the brim, or you just don’t want to carry it around – then a bottle bag might be an option for you.
If you just prefer to have all the baby gear with you, which therefore requires a diaper bag, our article “The good diaper bag” might be interesting for you. Read it right here!
- Hanging hooks
If you have slightly larger items that need to be carried in a bag, you can get some smart hanging hooks, which can easily be mounted on the stroller's handlebar. That way, you won’t have to carry them in your hands.
- Sibling seat
If your baby has an older brother or sister, a sibling seat for the stroller will be a good solution when you need to go on a slightly longer trip. The little legs can’t always keep up or they get too tired.
Sometimes children can suddenly turn into little fireballs and stubbornly sit down on the ground In such a situation, it would be nice to be able to place them in the seat instead of having to carry them in your arms.
The sibling seat is easy to handle, as it doesn't take up much space, and your child will also have a good view of the whole world.
...And now for the makeover!
Stroller Rattle
Stroller rattle, stroller hanging toy, stroller decoration… yes, it has many names. But they are cozy and make your stroller look a bit more festive – and at the same time exciting for your baby to look at. The rattles come in different sizes and colors and vary slightly in their function.
In addition to being exciting to look at, some rattles can be used for play, so your child can be entertained on the go. These models are often a bit larger and are attached on both sides – so that it hangs across the canopy.
Other stroller decorations, which are a bit smaller in size, are primarily meant as a nice decorative item for the stroller. They can also be used in a sweet way to signal whether there is a girl or boy in the stroller.
Stylish Stroller Sign
If you really want to personalize your stroller, a DIY stroller sign would be absolutely perfect! Imagine a license plate, just in a smaller format and with, for example, a name instead of numbers. Now we are really talking about rolling in style You can have your child's name, birth date – or something completely different written on it. Only your imagination sets the limits.
Btw. We eeeeels love everything with names on it!
Make Your Own Mosquito Net
Another way to jazz up your stroller could be to get a mosquito/insect net that has nice patterns sewn on. There are quite a few of those, and some of them even have reflectors, so you can safely take a walk in the dark.
But if you want to stand out completely and not risk having the same net as others, you can easily and simply design your own insect net. And the best part is, you don't even need to be good with needle and thread – you can just use a glue gun. Wuhu!
Again, only your imagination sets the limits regarding the design. But if you want it to be a bit easy, you can buy some felt in your favorite color and a glue gun – and then you're good to go.
Pssst… Last week we wrote about how to make your stroller ready for autumn. We also wrote about what to be aware of regarding the use of an insect net. You can read more about this right here!
Colorful Stroller Trim
Another type of accessory that can personalize your stroller is a stroller border. In short, it is a small soft unfolding fabric book that can be placed in the bassinet or in the stroller at your child's head. Besides decorating with its nice colors and beautiful patterns, the baby will also have something to look at. It turns out that some children find it easier to calm down when they have something to focus on.
If you are going to buy a stroller border for a newborn, it would be a good idea to buy one with shapes and contrasting colors, as their vision is not yet fully developed and therefore perceives this best.
So if you want your child to get the most joy out of the border, we recommend buying a model with contrasting colors on one side and fun colorful figures on the other.
We hope our suggestions have given you plenty of inspiration to pimp your stroller Enjoy!
