In this post, we will tell you a bit more about the lovely ice cream stand made of wood from Melissa & Doug, which our blogger "Csirinyi" has created:

The ice cream stand and the pack of ice cream have found their way into my daughter's heart - she loves it.
With the ice cream stand, my daughter can learn to recognize words, recognize colors, and learn to spell. She learns to do math problems and what prices the items have. A super good way to teach the child about the process of eventually sitting with a finished ice cream of her own choice. The ice cream stand also encourages role play and the different roles in a shop.
In short, the possibilities for play are many, and only imagination sets the limits :-)
The ice cream stand contains 24 different pieces, which provide many opportunities to create a lovely ice cream on a warm summer day. A sea of different flavors and a sea of different toppings.
Alma, my daughter, has immense joy from the ice cream stand and the many games it brings. Only imagination sets limits to the many games.
Block Major with Ice
Alma and I started stacking all the ice cream scoops on top of each other. I explained to her about the different ice creams she chose. For example, I told her that she chose chocolate ice cream in a cup, strawberry ice cream in a cone with cherry topping on top.
In this way, Alma learns to put words to the ice cream she has in her hands and the different colors of the ice cream.
Afterwards, she ran around to both dad and mom, who both had to taste the ice cream she had just made.
The ice creams were super easy to stack on top of each other due to the large plastic pieces used to connect the scoops.
In role play, many senses come into play. The ice cream is cold and tastes sweet. The yellow ice cream is sour because it is made from lemon. Facial expressions and body language are important here (and can sometimes be super funny.
We tried to use the booklet so Alma could count how many scoops she had put together. Now Alma has learned to count to 4 - it required a lot of repetitions, but practice makes perfect.
Along with the ice cream stand came a set of banknotes. Alma didn't quite understand this, so they were used as napkins after she had eaten the ice cream.
