How to measure your cup size

Measure around the fullest part of your breast, also called bust measurement (position a). If you measure in centimeters, the difference between a and b determines your cup size. If you measure in inches, the difference between your bust measurement and bra size determines your cup size.

How to measure your band size

Measure just under your bust (position 'b'). In centimeters, round up to the closest bra size. In inches, add four inches to an even number and five inches to an odd number to find your bra size.

Fit your bra

As mentioned earlier under what creates the perfect nursing bra, we have explained that your breasts will change size and that flexibility and support, therefore, mean comfort and never before has comfort for sore and fuller breasts been more important.

Here are some tips on how to fit your bra:

  • Open the hook and eye at the back of the bra and loosen the shoulder straps
  • Put your arms through the shoulder straps, lean forward and position the bra under your bust.
  • Now close your bra at the back and make sure the hook and eye are level with your shoulder. Close at the outermost hook (a free bra extender is included)
  • Position the shoulder straps over your shoulders
  • Put your breast in the cup by leaning forward and allowing gravity to pull the breast down into the bra cup; this also ensures that the tighter bra sits in the right place.
  • Shake your breasts, adjust the shoulder straps & stretch your arms up over your head; bend slightly forward, stand up: how does it feel and look?

How to see if the bra has the right fit:

  • Ensure that your entire breast is placed inside the bra
  • Ensure that none of the breast bulges under the arms or under the bust
  • The ideal height of the breast seen from the side is halfway under your upper back
  • If the bust measurement fits, there should be no marks on your skin and you should be able to place two flat fingers under the bra; otherwise, the bra is too small.
  • If the bra rides up between your shoulder blades, you need a smaller size.
