A child gate is necessary with small powder monkeys in the home. Child gates come in many varieties and for many needs, and therefore I have made this guide, which hopefully can help you find the perfect solution. It can be a bit complicated with the many different models, and therefore I have tried to make it a little more manageable with the guide below. For example, it is very important that you use the correct child gate in front of a staircase, so you do not risk your child tipping over the gate and falling down and getting hurt.
It gives you peace of mind when you know that the safety measures you have in your home are correct and that they are properly installed. You are therefore free from always having to supervise your child when they play alone in the home.

BabyDan Premier safety gate/child gate, pressure mounted
The model comes in 3 different colors: White, black, and charcoal.
The gate is 71 cm high and can, as standard, cover an opening of 73.5 – 79.6 cm. The gate can be extended up to 119.3 cm. You can purchase extra extensions for the gate, and each extension gives an additional 7 cm of width. The Premier child gate can be mounted with a total of 6 extensions, but this requires you to use the included wall brackets, which must be screwed into the wall or door frame.
If you can make do with using 2 extensions for your child gate, you do not need to drill holes in the wall, and it can be used as pressure mounted.
Extensions are sold in packages of either 1 extension or a package with 2 extensions.

BabyDan Pet gate child gates
BabyDan Pet Gate PPG wall mounted in white
The gate is wall-mounted, meaning it must be screwed into the wall or door frame. The opening measurement of the gate ranges from 63.5 cm to 103.5 cm. The Pet Gate has 2 front panels that can be shifted, thus adjusting to the desired width.
BabyDan Pet Gate PPG pressure mounted and extra high in white
The gate is pre-mounted, so you are basically free from drilling holes in the wall or door frame. The gate fits in openings that are 73 cm to 86 cm when you use the free extender included in the package. However, the gate can be extended up to 120 cm, where you must use the maximum allowed number of extenders, which is 6. When you use more than 2 extenders on this gate, you must use the included wall cups, which must be screwed into the wall or door frame. Alternatively, you can also use the included tape to mount the wall cups, in that way you avoid making holes in the wall. You can find “BabyDan Pet Gate PPG pre-mounted and extra tall in white” here.
BabyDan Flex gate
The Flex series is characterized by its ability to cover larger openings, such as in front of a fireplace or if you want to enclose larger areas of your home, such as the living room and kitchen.
The Flex gates are sold as follows:
Flex M: 90 – 146 cm and is 71 cm high. The package consists of 1 x door section (72 cm) and 2 x small sections (33 cm) as well as wall mounts. See it here.
Flex L: 90 – 223 cm and is 71 cm high. The package consists of 1 x door section (72 cm) and 2 x large sections (72 cm) as well as wall mounts. See it here.
Flex XL: 90 – 278 cm: The package consists of 1 x door section (72 cm), 2 x small sections (33 cm) and 2 x large sections (72 cm) as well as wall mounts. See it here.
Flex XXL: 90- 350 cm: The package consists of 1 x door section (72 cm), and 4 x large sections (72 cm) as well as wall mounts.
Common to all gates is that they can be extended as much as you want. If your needs change, you can always supplement with extra sections and door sections. This also makes it easier if you want to sell the gate or pass it on to friends, as they can buy extra sections or remove them to fit their individual needs.
Park-a-kid
Park-a-kid is simply a Flex XXL gate, where a mat is included to lay on the floor so your child does not have to sit on a cold floor and play. Park-a-kid can therefore also be used as a child gate and can be extended in exactly the same way as those we call “Flex”.
BabyDan No trip child gate in metal
Here we have a really good basic gate in metal that needs to be mounted on brackets, which you screw into the wall or door frame. The gate fits openings between 72 – 78.5 cm. The No Trip child gate has “Quick release,” which means it can be easily taken down and removed. This can be practical if you have guests or just do not need it.
Babydan Slimfit Child Gate
Perfect gate for narrow openings, fitting openings down to 63 cm. The gate can extend up to 89.20 cm using 3 extensions. Note that you need to use the included wall brackets for this gate. They are easily mounted with the included tape. Extensions are sold separately.
BabyDan Preset Travel Gate
Smart gate that can be folded up, taking up almost no space. Perfect for travel or visits to grandparents. The gate comes with a travel bag. It is made of nylon with a transparent mesh mounted on a metal frame. The gate has an indicator that shows if it is correctly installed. It weighs only 2.3 kg including the travel bag.
The gate measures: H: 75 x W: 68 x D: 3 cm.
BabyDan “Two-way auto close” Child Gate
A child gate that closes and locks by itself. The door can be opened from both sides and opens easily with one hand. The gate has an indicator on the handle that shows if the gate is properly installed.
It fits openings of 73.5 – 79.6 cm. It can be extended with a total of 2 extensions, which must be purchased separately. When using extensions on the gate, the included wall cups must be used. They can be mounted on the wall either using the included tape or by screwing them into the wall or door frame with screws.
The gate can be extended as follows using extensions:
1 extension: 79.6-86.5 cm
2 extensions: 86.0-93.3 cm
BabyDan Multidan Child Gate
Good basic child gate with a large opening width. The gate fits openings from 62.5 – 106.8 cm. The gate has a “Quick release”, which means it is easy to detach the wall brackets if you have guests or temporarily do not need the gate.
The gate can be opened from both sides and is easily operated with one hand.

Babydan Flexi Fit Child Gate
The Flexi Fit child gate is wall-mounted and has brackets that can be angled. This means that if you have an opening where the brackets cannot be mounted opposite each other, the brackets can be angled to fit. The gate has a “Quick release” function that makes it easy to remove the gate from the brackets if it is not used for a period. The gate opens and closes easily with one hand.
The gate fits openings from 67 – 105.5 cm.
BabyDan Guard Me Child Gate
A safety gate that is auto-foldable and flexible. The gate can be mounted in or on the door frame. It can of course also be mounted between 2 walls, such as in a hallway, for example.
The gate fits in the following openings:
Mounted inside a door frame: 64.5 cm – 89 cm.
Mounted outside a door frame: 55 – 79.5 cm.
With 1 x extender, the gate fits the following measurements:
Up to 113.5 cm mounted inside the door frame
Up to 103.5 cm mounted outside the door frame
