The price of the sensory swing
The first thing to consider before buying a sensory swing is what you want to spend on it. How much money do you have and how much are you willing to pay for it? Is it necessary to spend 800 DKK on a sensory swing, or can you buy one of the cheaper options for around 450 DKK? Often, price and quality go hand in hand, but the more expensive sensory swings, around 800 DKK and up, are primarily intended for institutions where they hang for decades and the swing is used by several children every single day.
The child's age
You need to be aware of the child's age when choosing a sensory swing. Some sensory swings are made of netting and others are made with a trampoline-like base. If the sensory swing is to be used by younger children, we recommend a sensory swing like Krea's, which is specifically made with the trampoline-like base. There is a risk associated with this, as very small children/babies can get their arms and legs stuck between the holes in the netting and thus potentially get hurt. If you want to use a sensory swing for younger children under 3 years old, we therefore recommend that you always supervise the child and that, as a general rule, you should not have the sensory swing hanging freely without any blanket or cushion in it. If you still choose to buy a sensory swing with netting for small children - or if you already have one, we recommend that you buy a cushion or put a blanket inside it. You can buy a cushion that fits our swings right here.
Can I use the swing for children under 3 years old even though the recommendation says otherwise?
If you buy a sensory swing, you will notice that it is marked on the packaging that it is not recommended for children under 3 years. This recommendation is made based on the applicable rules and legislation from the state and safety authorities.
A swing will never be recommended for children under 3 years old. The rules for toys and playground equipment are very strict for children under 3 years. This means that as a manufacturer, you cannot omit this signage. The law does not take into account that many people install the sensory swing low to the ground in the living room, where the baby can be gently rocked to sleep. Therefore, it is perfectly fine to use a sensory swing for this "living room use" without problems. Just remember to use a baby nest or place cushions around the edge so that the child cannot roll out. If you choose Krea Sensory Swing, the problem will be limited, as the child will automatically fall towards the center. However, it is important to be aware that the child may fall out when it starts to turn over onto its stomach and move forward. Always remember to supervise the baby when it is in the sensory swing.
Our recommendations for using sensory swings for children under 3 years:
- Always supervise the baby.
- Do not hang the sensory swing more than 20 cm above the ground
- Never swing wildly with a baby in it
- Prevent the child from crawling out of the sensory swing. This can be done with a baby nest or cushions.
- Choose a sensory swing without a net - if you choose one with a net, place a blanket or cushion at the bottom. For example, this cushion.
The optimal sensory swing for babies
If you need a sensory swing suitable for very small children (0-1 years), we recommend a sensory swing that is not made of netting and has protective elements. This ensures that there is no possibility for any body parts to get caught in the holes of the net. At Mammashop.dk, we sell this sensory swing from Krea. The sensory swing is not made of netting, which prevents the child from getting any body parts pinched. The sensory swing is made of lightweight materials, including an aluminum frame and a trampoline-like base. To prevent the child from hitting their head on the edge, the edge has been covered with shock-absorbing foam. This sensory swing is therefore impressively thought out to the smallest detail and is recommended for children of ALL ages, as it can accommodate very small infants as well as larger children - and adults, as it can carry 100 kg. Always remember to read our recommendations above regarding the use of sensory swings for children under 3 years.
Instead of netting, the sensory swing is made of a material similar to a trampoline. The price of the Krea Sensory Swing is also impressively low compared to many others. It is not recommended to hang the sensory swing outdoors, as the fabric on the edge will wear out if the swing is used with shoes and gets sand in it. Here we recommend the other sensory swing with a net, which is also a bit more expensive but significantly better for outdoor use.

Krea Sensory Swing

When talking about sensory swings, one cannot overlook Krea's sensory swing. It is one of the newest models on the market but probably also the most popular of its kind. It is not for nothing that it is so. The beautiful design and the price are the biggest factors that have made the sensory swing popular.
Krea Sensory Swing is really good for babies due to the trampoline-like base which prevents body parts from getting caught in the net without needing to place a cushion or blanket underneath.
In addition to the trampoline-like base, the sensory swing has shock-absorbing edges which protect the child from the hard aluminum frame at the edge. Therefore, based on the base and the edges, one can really feel that safety has been considered. The swing also weighs only about 4 kilograms, which makes it incredibly easy to handle.

Hanging hook for sensory swing/round swing
Recommended use: Indoor/outdoor
Strong quality hanging hook made of metal. The smart thing about the hanging hook is that with the ball bearings over the carabiner, it allows the sensory swing to rotate without the rope getting tangled. Additionally, the hanging hook has plastic protectors where all the metal rotates against each other. This ensures that there are no splinters or sparks when the swing is in use.
Spring for sensory swing
Recommended use: Indoors/outdoors
This strong spring is perfect for the sensory swing if you want the swing with the baby to be able to bounce up and down. The spring is incredibly popular among our customers who buy a sensory swing for indoor suspension, where the little baby can lie down and fall asleep. Here, the bouncing effect is super good and therefore the spring is definitely suitable.
