We are often asked: "Why should I have cot bumpers?". It is a very good question. Cot bumpers are far from necessary, but they are still very good in many ways. Many people do not use cot bumpers, and that is perfectly fine too.
To begin with, cot bumpers are often used simply for cosiness. They make the bed feel safer and cosier for very young children to lie in. When the child gets a little older, they are very useful as they prevent the child from putting legs and arms through the bars of the bed. Likewise, cot bumpers protect the baby from draughts.
If the child feels that the bed is too large, it is a very good idea to buy thick cot bumpers. If the bed is not so large, we recommend thinner cot bumpers. We have both thick and thin cot bumpers here in the shop, and you will find the full selection right here on this page.
Cot bumpers are made for the child's cot. Regardless of which cot you have, our cot bumpers should also fit yours. Cot bumpers are made in a size large enough to reach around the edge of most cot models. However, you should consider whether the cot bumpers should be thick or thin, as this can make a significant difference.
Thick cot bumpers are good when the cot is wide and perhaps too large for the baby. This makes the bed a little smaller and therefore safer for the child.
Thin cot bumpers are used for cots where the child does not need the bed to be made smaller. Thin cot bumpers make the bed smaller to a very limited extent.
Among our selection, you will find a large range of popular and somewhat different cot bumpers. They are not square and long like ‘normal’ ones, but are shaped like a snake – typically with a lovely head. Although white is a delicate colour, it is a very popular colour for cot bumpers. This is probably primarily because it matches all the different bedding sets you may have. For example, if you have baby bedding with a car print, pink cot bumpers may not be the most ideal choice. With a white bumper, you will get both gender-neutral cot bumpers and one that matches all of the child's bedding – regardless of print, colour, brand etc.
If you need cot bumpers for a junior bed, it can be a bigger task. Most cot bumpers measure 360 cm (more on this further down in the text). Since the cot bumpers are this size, they will not be able to reach all the way around the junior bed, which typically measures 70x160 cm. Therefore, you need cot bumpers that are at least 460 cm long, and to be honest, there can unfortunately be few and far between such cot bumpers. Therefore, it can often be necessary to buy 2 cot bumpers of the same model and simply place them in the bed next to each other. Several of our customers have done this, and it works really well.
However, we also recommend that you consider whether cot bumpers will be necessary in your junior bed. Most of our customers typically only use them in the cot and stop using them when they move to a junior bed, as they are no longer as relevant for the child.

If you have been unlucky enough to get a stain that you simply cannot remove and cannot bear to buy new cot bumpers for +500 DKK, it can be a very sensible idea to invest in a new cover. Some of our covers can be zipped directly over the existing one – for others, you need to remove the old one. Always remember to check the measurements to ensure that the cover you buy fits the cot bumpers you have at home.
Most of our cot bumpers have a length of 360 cm. This is often the standard length for cot bumpers, as they fit most cots and cradles on the market. If a model differs from 360 cm, this will be stated on the individual product. Only a few of our cot bumpers will have a shorter or longer length than the standard 360 cm.
Who benefits the most from cot bumpers? Well, of course, baby does. Cot bumpers create enormous security in the bed. They are therefore ideal for children who have difficulty falling asleep in the evening and who would like to sleep with mum and dad. By placing cosy cot bumpers in the cot, the child will be shielded behind the cot bumpers, which provides lovely security and closeness for the child. Likewise, they protect the child from possible bumps and bruises if the child sleeps restlessly at night or chooses to jump around in the bed.
In addition to creating security and closeness, cot bumpers will help insulate and protect the child from cold and draughts. You will therefore find that your child gets sick to a much lesser extent, as especially draughts and cold at night can be the cause of young children's many colds and fevers.
